Featured Keynote Speaker
President, American Roundtable to Abolish Homelessness
Former Executive Director, U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness
Philip Mangano served as the nation’s “homeless czar” for 7 years, appointed by President Bush in 2002 as Executive Director of the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness. Mr. Mangano has become an internationally recognized leader of the movement to abolish homelessness by promoting evidence-based, consumer-centric, results-oriented best practices that have contributed towards significant decreases in homelessness. His work has been informed by his faith, business principles and practices, and innovative initiatives that move us beyond détente with social and spiritual wrong to a will for its abolition. He credits the words and actions of the abolitionists and the lives and writings of St. Francis Assisi and the Christian social activist Simone Weil as the spiritual inspiration for his work that has helped turn the tide of homelessness worldwide.
