Exploring 7 Billion: Population, Inequities and our Changing Climate
Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (PST)
Join experts from the Institute for Population Studies (IPS), Global Footprint Network, and Sierra Club as we explore the complex and critical, yet often not discussed, intersection of population growth and climate change and the effects both have on human health, women’s rights, and the social and economic issues we face globally and locally. We’ll begin with a screening of the internationally acclaimed, award winning film “Mother: Caring for 7 Billion” (www.motherthefilm.com), and follow with a panel and audience discussion.

HowMany.org with the Ecology Center
HowMany.org works to solve environmental and social problems by including population size in discussions of those problems. We seek to remove the obstacles that keep population from being seriously and rationally discussed in public discourse, and empower people to determine, reach and maintain the best population size for their families, regions and the planet.
About the Ecology Center Regenerating Solutions Salon series: The Bay Area environmental scene is rich with opportunities to volunteer, take action, and get politically engaged. What’s missing? A time and space for talking with others about questions, issues, and challenges that come up when engaging in environmental advocacy and personal action. The Ecology Center’s Regenerating Solutions Salon addresses this through presentations and facilitated discussions touching on a variety of topics.
