The Neurological Research Center at Hattiesburg Clinic and the Mississippi Department of Mental Health are hosting an Alzheimer’s awareness program on Friday, Nov. 8, where employees and members of the community can participate in a free Virtual Dementia Tour™ to experience the daily struggles of living with Alzheimer’s disease. The tours will be held in the main clinic on the second floor in the Cedar, Cypress and Poplar rooms. There will be four sessions throughout the day including 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. During the tour, participants will put on glasses, gloves and headphones and will be asked to complete simple tasks that become difficult with dementia. Space is limited and registration is required. Call CP&D at 601-268-5606 for more information or to register.
