Small Business/Entrepreneur

Accounting Principles for Start-Up and Aspiring Entrepreneurs


Starting a business takes a lot of work, no matter what kind of business, or the size, etc. No matter how grand or unique the idea, or how innovative your product or service, the foundation of any successful business is sound accounting principles. This workshop is designed to help start-up or aspiring entrepreneurs to grow responsibly while in start-up phase. Many tools are available on the Internet and at libraries to aid aspiring entrepreneurs. But where do you start? Attend this session to get your questions answered and to get resources that can help you navigate these decisions as you start your business.


Building a Foundation for Small Business Success


Every successful business must have a strong foundation. This workshop is about how to build a strong foundation for a business, and will provide strategies for identifying current holes in your businesses infrastructure. Participants will go through a process assessing their businesses ‘LIFT Foundation’- Legal, Insurance, Finance, & Tax - and explore considerations to get the holes out of your business' foundation.

Managing Debt and Restoring Credit


Feel trapped because you’re knee deep in debt? Are you aiming to improve your credit score? There are a number of ways to effectively eliminate debt. Some tactics are relatively simple, while others require strict discipline. We all need support on effective tools, strategies and resources to strengthen our personal finances, particularly credit and debt. This session will provide tactical tips and will help participants begin a debt reduction and credit restoration process.


Financial Planning – Saving, Investing & Planning for the Future


Plan. Plan. Plan. Save. Save Save. One thing that is for sure is that every financial planner will advise you to plan, and to save! But, how do we develop sound financial planning strategies for: Retirement, Financing College Education for Children and Loved Ones, Estate Planning, Caring for Aging Parents, etc.… This session will focus on financial planning for the future, but will hone in on some of the specific areas that we need to save for, and will look at tools and strategies for these saving plans.


Avoiding Debt in Your Youth


In this day and age, young adults have to deal with the debt crisis that the whole world is facing – and that’s while the cost of education is steadily rising. Some debt may be inevitable. This session can advise young adults on issues such as managing a conservative budget and avoiding the pitfalls of unnecessary personal debt.
