Exeter at Saïd is a series of collaborative events in which the Rector of Exeter College brings a high-level speaker to the Saïd Business School to give a seminar, followed by a drinks reception.
Alex Scott, Executive Chairman, SandAire and Founder Chairman of Directors of the Institute of Family Business, will deliver his seminar at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford on Thursday 21 February 2013 entitled "Inheritor, Descendant, Entrepreneur: the challenges and rewards of family businesses."
Biographical note on Alexander Scott
A fourth-generation family business owner and entrepreneurial family business leader and strategist, Alex read PPE at Exeter College, Oxford and holds an MBA from IMD, Lausanne.
In 1996 he led the successful exit from his family business, Provincial Insurance, and the subsequent reaffirmation and deployment of his family business strategy. He is now Chairman of the companies he created, notably SandAire, www.sandaire.com, a full-service Family Investment Office, delivering investment and family office services to wealthy families and not-for-profit organisations. He is a Non-Executive Director of his family's investment holding company and several private companies; and a Trustee of the Francis Scott Charitable Trust, www.fcsct.org.uk, and the Grosvenor Estate.
A leading participant in the Multi Family Office sector, Alex co-founded and is a past Chairman of the Institute for Family Business (UK) and of the Family Firm Institute Inc.
