Pinterest 101: Harness the Power of Virtual Pinboards 4 Librarians
- Oklahoma Department of Libraries computer lab, Oklahoma City OK
These classes are free for librarians, library staff, board members, friends of the library, and literacy representatives working in public, institutional, educational and museum settings. Non-library/literacy personnel may be allowed to take courses IF space permits by signing up through Melanie Price, Melanie.Price@libraries.ok.gov on a paper waiting list.
This project is funded through the OK Dept of Libraries with funds from Library Services & Technology Act (LSTA) , a Federal source of library funding provided by the Institute of Museum & Library Services.
Excel Beginning Financial Features, Part 2 (for library/literacy staff/volunteers)
Learn to use Excel to create library budgets and track other financial data.
Part 1 topics include getting familiar with the Excel environment, entering and editing data, modifying a worksheet with the majority of the day focusing on basic formula creation.
Part 2 will cover worksheet formatting, printing, working with multiple sheets and more in-depth training on formulas.
Students must also enroll in both parts 1 & 2 in November or go on a paper waiting list with Melanie Price.
Kathy Blick O'Donnell, computer lab coordinator at ODL, will teach the class. There is no prerequisite for this class except that the attendee is well versed & comfortable using computers in general.
If your library or literacy organization is 60 miles or more from ODL, a travel stipend of up to $92/night for overnight stay may be available. (Stipend will be based on lodging receipt. If lodging charges are less than $92, the contract will be written for the actual amount, not $92.) Mileage also may be reimbursed at 30 cents/mile if you are paying for your own gas & cannot collect from your library/literacy organization. Stipend contracts will be made out to the library/literacy organization. It will be your responsibility to collect your reimbursement from such organization. No travel stipend contracts will be written until the class has been attended and photocopied proof of overnight stay (if applicable) has been submitted to the Office of Library Development.
The Oklahoma Department of Libraries (ODL) is the official state library of Oklahoma. We serve the information and records management needs of state government, assist with public library development, coordinate library and information technology projects for the state, and serve the general public through our specialized collections.
