Event Details

Excel 2010 – Beginner

 

Objective:  This hands–on workshop is designed for Fordham University Faculty and Staff. Are you new to Excel? If so, learn how to create a spreadsheet, to do basic math in Excel, to add and delete columns and rows, to keep column titles in sight as your scroll, and to prepare a spreadsheet for printing.  Participants will be able to navigate more efficiently within Excel and have a better understanding of working with data and formulas.

 

Learning Outcomes:  

 

At the completion of this course, participants will be able to:   

·         Create a basic spreadsheet

·         Sort and Filter data

·         Insert commonly used Formulas

·         Create and manipulate Formulas

·         Use AutoFill options

·         Fill in a series of cells with data

Introduction to Excel

·         Overview of Excel 

Working with Data

·         Sorting data

·         Using custom sorts

·         Filtering data 

Common Formulas/ Equations

·         AutoSum

·         Average 

Working with Formulas / Equations

·         Creating formulas

·         Copying formulas

·         Pasting formulas vs. values 

Auto Fill Series

·         Fill data into adjacent cells

·         Use AutoFill options

·         Fill Series 

Review and Survey

 

Course Prerequisites:

·         This course is for Fordham University employees. 

·         Advanced registration is required. 

·         Course length – 2 hours.
