Film Descriptions:::

2012: Time For Change (85 min)

2012: A Time For Change Movie Poster

“2012: Time for Change” presents an optimistic alternative to apocalyptic doom and gloom. Directed by Emmy Award nominee João Amorim, the film follows journalist Daniel Pinchbeck, author of the bestselling 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl, on a quest for a new paradigm that integrates the archaic wisdom of tribal cultures with the scientific method. As conscious agents of evolution, we can redesign post-industrial society on ecological principles to make a world that works for all. Rather than breakdown and barbarism, 2012 heralds the birth of a regenerative planetary culture where collaboration replaces competition, where exploration of psyche and spirit becomes the new cutting edge, replacing the sterile materialism that has pushed our world to the brink.

 Wake Up (87 min)

Jonas Elrod was leading an ordinary life until he woke up one day to a totally new reality. He suddenly could see and hear angels, demons, auras and ghosts. The documentary Wake Up follows this fascinating story of an average guy who inexplicably developed the ability to access other dimensions. With his loving but skeptical girlfriend by his side, Jonas crisscrosses the country as he searches for answers and delves deeper into this thrilling world of the phenomenal and spiritual. Wake Up is a call to consciousness to everyone who sees it; an invitation to accept that there is more to this life than meets the eye.

My Reincarnation (82 min)

Filmed over twenty years by acclaimed documentarian Jennifer Fox (FLYING,CONFESSIONS OF A FREE WOMAN), MY REINCARNATION chronicles the epic story of the high Tibetan Buddhist Master, Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, and his western-born son, Yeshi. The film follows Namkhai Norbu’s rise to greatness as a Buddhist teacher in the West, while his son, Yeshi, recognized at birth as the reincarnation of a famous spiritual master, breaks away from his father’s tradition to embrace the modern world. Can the father convince his son to keep the family’s threatened spiritual legacy alive? Never before has a high Tibetan Master allowed such complete access to his private life and it is doubtful that another ever will. With her signature intimate entry to both family and icons including the Dalai Lama, Fox expertly distills a decades-long drama into a universal story about love, transformation, and destiny.

I AM (78 min)

I AM is the story of a successful Hollywood director, Tom Shadyac (Liar LiarNutty ProfessorBruce Almighty), who experienced a life threatening head injury, and his ensuing journey to try and answer two very basic questions:

What's wrong with our world? and What can we do about it?

With a film crew of four, Tom visits some of today s great minds, including authors, poets, teachers, religious leaders, and scientists (Howard Zinn, Lynn McTaggart, Desmond Tutu, Thom Harmann, Coleman Barks) searching for the fundamental endemic problem that causes all of the other problems, while simultaneously reflecting on this own life choices of excess, greed and eventual healing.

We started by asking what's wrong with the world, and ended up discovering what's right with it.

About Evolver Indianapolis:

The grand vision of the Evolver Social Movement is to create an international alternate social structure of evolvers who share their talents, resources, wisdom, and passions in building a better, more equitable world.  We promote and support an emerging value system that is sustainable, full of meaning and founded on human connection. Our community appreciates the magical aspects of life and cultivates a visceral connection to the natural world. Where others may hear alarm bells (peak oil, 2012, global warming) we answer the call -- contributing to a new planetary culture based on ecological values, creative collaboration, and conscious evolution.

The Evolver monthly Spore gatherings are at the center of this mission, providing a space for a diverse array of individuals, groups, and organizations to connect and collaborate in order to transform their local communities while synching up their energies and intentions with a larger movement that is learning, supporting, and growing together.  These Evolver regionals create a unique hub that can bring together many different tribes -- from bicycle co-ops and yoga studios to permaculture gardens and urban homesteads to open source programmers and local currency groups. We believe the success of each Spore relies on getting many different local groups and scenes to come together to build a more rich and vibrant sense of community
