Heaven Hill Distilleries Presents
'Evolution of Bourbon' Tasting Benifit
Experience over 200 years of American Whiskey as Heaven Hill's Whiskey Professor, Bernie Lubbers leads you through the Evolution of Bourbon. We will begin with an introduction through corn whiskey in the style folks in Kentucky drank back in the late 1700's. Then we will move to wheat whiskey, reflective of the mid 1800's. You will have the opportunity to taste Pre-Prohibition style Bottled-In-Bond Bourbon which, in 1897, established defining standards for bourbon and changed the whiskey landscape. We will conclude with tastings of the Single Barrel and Small Batch style Bourbons that after Prohibition, revitalized the category propelling us in to the modern Golden Age of Bourbon.
For more than fifty years, Parker Beam has been practicing his family’s craft of distilling, aging and selecting some of the world’s most critically-acclaimed Bourbons at Heaven Hill Distilleries. In 2013 he was diagnosed with ALS, and created Parker’s Heritage Collection Promise of Hope as part of a number of cause-related efforts Heaven Hill and Parker Beam have recently taken on to help in the fight against ALS, a neurological disease affecting approximately 30,000 Americans at any time. Also part of this effort is the recently announced Master Distillers’ Unity, a special crystal two bottle set of Bourbon from all the major Kentucky heritage distilleries blended together to be auctioned off in NYC on October 13th.
All Proceeds will go towards the ALS Association
