Everywhereelse.co The Startup Conference 2014
Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 1:00 PM - Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at 4:00 PM (CST)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
The inaugural everywhereelse.co The Startup Conference drew over 1000 attendees, entrepreneurs, startup founders, investors, and startup support folks from across the country and around the world. We met, mingled, networked and learned with people from just about every state in the country and as far away as; Singapore, Chile, Canada, and London.
Everywhereelse.co The Startup Conference 2013 featured great speakers like Scott Case (Founding CTO of Priceline.com and CEO of Startup America), Ingrid Vanderveldt (serial entrepreneur and EIR at Dell), Rohit Bhargava (Best selling author of Likeanomics), Brant Cooper & Patrick Vlaskovits (co-authors of the Lean Entrepreneur) and many more.
We gave away $60,000 in prize money to Coyote Case, Care2Manage and AspirEDU which all happen to be founded by women!
Feedback so far has been terrific. Startups, founders and entrepreneurs enjoyed in depth educational content from Baker Donelson on legal advice for startups, and the Global Accelerator Network on acceleration from a startups perspective and from the perspective of accelerator leaders. Startups were also treated to talks on startup branding from former P&G Brand Manager for Olay, and GM at the Brandery, Mike Bott and Elton Rivas of Startup Florida and OneSpark.
We all enjoyed a Memphis Grizzlies game and some one of a kind kick ass after parties. One person said "I've never been to a conference where we got to see an NBA game, and party at a whore house (World Famous Ernestine & Hazels with Xtrant) and a disco djed by a pimp (Raifords hosted by Work For Pie, Sizzle Pig, Simple Focus, and Archer Malmo). The night life was a huge part of this event. Attendees also enjoyed two first night after parties on Beale Street with Xtrant at BB Kings and Glimpulse at 152.
We've booked the dates for next year and based on the feedback and vibe from this year we can already say it's going to be a huge event.
As a startup ourselves we had a lot of kinks to work out and many lessons were learned. Which is why we are planning next year right now.
As with any successful event we are planning a pretty significant increase in ticket cost. With that we will have more speakers, more workshops and more prize money. However for the next 6 weeks we will let attendees and startups who want in, in our Startup Village for the same price as 2013.
