This class will be the minimum qualification for those wishing to become members of the California Sports Massage Team. Topics that will be covered include:
- Post Event, Intra/Inter Event, and Pre Event techniques.
- Necessary intakes, suggested equipment to be prepared for any and all circumstances at events.
- Thermo-regulatory issues to be aware of and how to manage and hopefully avoid cramping in the athletes.
The class is intended to be a refresher for information that most massage school curriculums include.
Tom and Debbie have been doing Sports Massage at events over the past 20 years from marathons, triathlons, cycling, and tournament work with many types of active clients. Tom helped to create the successful Washington AMTA Sports Massage Team that works 30 or more paying events all around the Northwest. He is leading the effort to duplicate that success here in California.
