Zinc Details and Makeshift Society are pleased to present an exploration of entrepreneurship and creativity featuring a chat with celebrated designer Eric Pfeiffer, founder of Pfeiffer Lab, and Rena Tom, founder of Makeshift Society. The event will take place on Thursday, October 3 at the Zinc Details showroom from 6 to 8 pm.
The program will entail a lively conversation with Eric and Rena about the advantages and challenges of running a small business from the perspective of two of the Bay Area's most respected practitioners and strategists. Their talk will be followed by a Q&A session.
Founder of Pfeiffer Lab and co-founder of US based manufacturer The Utility Collective, Eric brings 18 years of experience in every side of the design industry (from designer, manufacturer, strategist, retailer and wholesaler) to the evening's conversation. Heading the creative think tank and co-working community Makeshift Society, Rena guides independent business owners, designers and developers through the intricacies of small-batch manufacturing and boutique retail.
Eric and Rena will connect the dots for design entrepreneurs and makers, discussing issues such as how to take a product to market, how to manage creative relationships and take advantage of peer learning, and how sole practitioners can become engaged and inspired to share their stories with the design community.
