Cleveland State University Black Studies Program is hosting the 2nd Annunal Jazz at Lincoln Center "Essentially Ellington" High School Jazz and Band Regional Festival. Outstanding high school jazz bands will perform with Cleveland State University Jazz Heritage Orchestra.  Selected groups will be recommended to perform at the jazz at Lincoln Center national level.

The event will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 7pm.  The location is the Main Classroom Auditorium.

This is an excellent jazz concert featuring many of the region's promising young jazz musicians.  Students will participate in master classes conducted by JHO on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16, 2013.

Jazz Heritage Orchestra is considered the top big band jazz orchestra in the country.  JHO has performed with such national jazz greats as Clark Terry, Benny Golson, Nancy Wilson, and Vanessa Rubin.  They opened for the legendary poet Maya Angelou.  They also performed with local jazz greats Kia Allen and Evelyn Wright.
