Essential Jewish Knowledge: The Diversity of Jewish Belief
Thursday, July 17, 2014 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM (PDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
What do you HAVE to believe to be Jewish? Or do you have to believe anything at all? In the Middle Ages, Maimonides came up with a list of thirteen "essential principles" of belief. But it turns out nearly all of them have been debated by great Jewish minds before and since. We will look at some of the major differences of opinion in these debates and see if there really anything such thing as Jewish Dogma.
This four-part series will be taught by Rabbi David Kasher, director of education at Kevah.
Classes are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. If you'd like to attend all four classes in the series, you can purchase the Series Pass for $36.
