Support our Community

Esali Volunteer Training

This workshop will be directed towards those with an interest in helping our childbearing community.  From breastfeeding support to hosting birth socials, let's talk about how you can get involved with Esali Birth.  On December 14th, we'll be hosting an all-day training event - FREE - for a small group interested in volunteering their time for Esali workshops around the Mid-Ohio Valley.  We'll run multiple sessions focusing on different topics throughout the day and discuss some 2014 goals for Esali Birth and our community.

  • Registration & arrive 15 minutes prior to each session to sign-in (doors will be locked during sessions)
  • Willing to provide your time, on a volunteer basis, to help other families
  • Ability to be subjective, compassionate, and professional
  • Childcare for your littles*

  1.  9:00 - 10:00 - Arrive at 8:45/Doors lock at 8:50 - Breastfeeding Cafe Co-Host

  2.  10:30 - 11:30 - Arrive at 10:15/Doors lock at 10:20 - Birth Social Co-Host

11:30-12:30 - Lunch & Social Time

  3.  1:00 - 2:00 - Arrive at 12:45/Doors lock at 12:50 - Professionalism (required for all)

  4.  2:30 - 3:30 - Arrive at 2:15/Doors lock at 2:20 - Basic Babywearing

*Childcare will not be provided and children will not be permitted during training sessions.  Nurslings happy to sleep (or nurse, or quietly snuggle in a wrap) are welcome.  It is very, very, very rare that I would ask a mother to provide childcare for their little ones.  However, with the limited time available for these sessions, we need to be able to stay focused.  Likewise, the support involved with this type of work may often require that you be in a stage in your life/parenting that allows you to split your focus.  No you do not have to be a parent to volunteer.  I want you to comfortably be able to host events.  If you feel this would not be possible, please keep an eye out for future training.  We will break regularly, so check the schedule to see if this will work for your family.  Additionally, this one day will prove to be valuable for you in the future as you'll be able to easily bring your children to other events.  If you have any questions or concerns, ask!
