University of Maryland Epidemiology of Aging Training Program
The aging of the population highlights the need for research on diseases and disabilities that affect older persons. The objective of the Epidemiology of Aging Training Program at the University of Maryland in Baltimore is to train pre- and postdoctoral fellows to conduct independent and original research in the epidemiology of aging, with an emphasis on the prevention of late life disability and functional decline.
The program emphasizes the following four areas in which training faculty have extensive research experience and ongoing projects. These areas span traditional and emerging research areas in the epidemiology of aging, and provide a variety of opportunities for trainees to gain basic and specialized epidemiologic research skills.
