Share Environment Celebration Day at the Beaubien Woods!

Event Details

Explore in nature with the whole family!! Spend the day fishing, hiking canoeing, creating and building in the Beaubien Woods Forest Preserve, one of Chicago's beautiful natural areas which houses Flat Foot Lake. Pack your cooler and meet us there or head to Sacred Keepers for free bus transportation there and back! Buses leave Sacred Keepers, 4445 South King Drive at 11a and will depart Beaubien Woods at 3pm (actual event is from 11a-4pm).

Special Session: Join Sherry Williams from the Bronzeville Historical Society at 12:30pm at the pavillion for her historic tour and presentation on the history of African American presence in the Beaubien Woods area!

Sacred Keepers Sustainability Lab

Sacred Keepers Sustainability Lab is a Chicago based, non-profit organization dedicated to teaching our youth to inherit the Earth through environmental art and sciences, sustainability and meaningful service learning leadership. SKSL provides support to traditional and non-traditional educators in their efforts to create cohesive community learning environments from schoolyards to community gardens. It is our mission to serve as mentor to all invested in creating sustainable, safe places for our youth to learn and grow.
