"Start-Up War Stories from the Front Line: What it Takes to Start a Non-Profit Serving Children in War Torn Countries"
Join philanthropist Rick Montgomery for a talk about how the entrepreneurial spirit is transforming the nonprofit sector. Rick's nonprofit, Globalroots.org, has worked with locals to lay down vegetable gardens and hen houses next to poor schools and orphanages in dysfunctional places.
Rick will use outrageous stories and intriguing anecdotes to explain that an aid organization doesn't have to be massive in order to save lives. He will talk about the creative solutions he and his team have devised to help children in places such as Afghanistan, Gaza, Kenya, and Cambodia.
This is an ideal platform for local entrepreneurs, creative professionals, and others - whether you're looking for inspiration, trade secrets, and/or the opportunity to hear from one of Seattle's top creative minds. There will also be a Q&A session following the program. Drinks & appetizers will be served.
All event proceeds will benefit Rick's nonprofit, GlobalRoots.org.
