English Language Arts Literacy Grades K-5: Deepening Understanding of the CCSS for Writing
Educators will have the opportunity to engage in an in-depth deconstruction of the Writing Standards (text types and purpose, production and distribution, research and range of writing). They will explore a key instructional shift, using evidence-based claims, analyzing samples from Appendix C. Participants will then develop writing prompts, and consider strategies and lessons for using the writing samples as mentor texts in creating units aligned with the standards.
