      8TH ANNUAL HISPANIC FAMILY CONFERENCE

Join local and national researchers and practitioners involved with Hispanic Family Outreach and Engagement.

  • Learn why Family Engagement has emerged as the essential ingredient to addressing challenging educational, social and health problems. 
  • Learn how culturally competent engagement is done. 
  • Learn engagement subtleties and strategies that work (and those that don’t) while learning how to apply them to education, healthcare, social service, and faith-based engagement efforts.

Speakers will include: Dr. Luis Zayas, Univerity of Texas; Dr. Kirk Lewis, Pasadena ISD; Dr. Luis Torres, University of Houston; Dr. Richard Tapia, Rice University; Henry Gonzalez, Harris County Juvenile Probation; Dr. Scott VanBeck, Houston A+ Challenge; Robert Rivera, St. James Lutheran Church; Larry Savala, Hispanic Family Initiative; Art Rascon, ABC 13 News Anchor and others.

Who should attend?

Individuals and organizations wanting to better understand, connect and partner with local Hispanic families and communities. School leadership, counselors, church outreach staff, healthcare organizations, and nonprofits all stand to benefit from the conference. 

 

What is the cost for the .6 CEU credits?

CEU credits will be available for a $20 fee.  This fee is in addition to conference registration.  Once you register for the conference, you will be given the opportunity to purchase CEU credits.

What is the conference schedule?

7:30a-8:30a -- Private Breakfast (Invitation Only Event)

8:00a-8:30a -- Registration and Continental Breakfast

8:30a-11:45a -- Morning Sessions

12:00p - 3:30p -- Lunch and Afternoon Sessions

3:30p - 4:30p -- Optional: Reception and Continued Discussion  

  

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
