A transition towards low-emission and high-resilient economic growth requires a consideration of gender perspectives. Evidence suggests that empowering women in the workplace, marketplace and community and supporting the rise of women leaders has the potential to accelerate green growth and address/respond to climate change. This 1.5 hour event, hosted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), UN Global Compact, UN Women, and The Rockefeller Foundation, organized in conjunction with the UN Global Compact Leaders Summit 2013: Architects of a Better World, will bring together influential women CEOs with the goal of promoting the role of the private sector in addressing climate change. It will facilitate a discussion on enhancing women's leadership in the green economy and unlocking the potential of women in accelerating climate action.
