Attention all Intern Development Program (IDP) candidates:
You are invited to participate in an Emerging Professionals Companion (EPC) Activity and earn core hours towards IDP requirements for licensure. The program will be held at Monona Terrace concurrently with the AIA Wisconsin Convention & Expo.
The ADA Compliance Checklist activity from the recently "refreshed" Emerging Professionals Companion will take place during a workshop running concurrent with the first day of the AIA Wisconsin Convention. Those who successfully complete the activity will be eligible for 8 core IDP hours in the Planning and Zoning Regulations supplemental experience area.
Andy Malanowski, AIA, will moderate the 3 hour workshop with other guest appearances by architects throughout the workshop to offer guidance and answer questions.
Upon the completion of the activity, participants will have their own ADA Compliance ‘cheat sheet’ to reference back in their respective offices.
Included with the registration fee, all participants will receive a boxed lunch as well as printed copies of ‘Common ADA Errors and Omissions in New Construction and Alterations’ and ‘ADA Standards for Accessible Design.’ Participants must bring their own writing utensils.
Prior to the workshop, all participants need to read the Narrative associated with the Planning & Zoning Regulations section in the EPC (pp 93-109) and familiarize themselves with the content and theories presented.
BONUS! Registration for the EPC Activity also includes admission into the AIA Wisconsin Building Products Expo, the Findorff Keynote Address by Larry Speck, FAIA, and the 2013 Design Awards Presentation.
