Overview

OpenStack is a global collaboration of developers and cloud computing technologists producing the ubiquitous open source cloud operating system for public and private clouds. OpenStack currently consists of three core projects: OpenStack Compute (code-named Nova), a scalable compute provisioning engine, OpenStack Object Storage (code-named Swift), a fully distributed object store, and OpenStack Image Service (code-named Glance), to catalog and manage libraries of server images. Launched one year ago with source code contributions from Rackspace and NASA, the community has quickly grown to hundreds of contributing developers and more than 70 participating organizations.

Join the OpenStack community to learn more about the project, including how to get involved and make use of the technology for your organization. OpenStack community members will help personalize this initiative and provide you with the raw materials to engage with the community, become a consumer of the technology and take part in its evolution.

The one-day event will feature an overview of the technology for all audiences the first half of the day, followed by a technical deep-dive session in the afternoon. As an attendee, you should expect to:

  • Learn the history and vision of OpenStack, and why organizations across the world are backing the open source cloud platform
  • Gain a clear understanding of OpenStack technologies, including a feature overview and popular use cases
  • Learn how the open source cloud operating system fits within public and private cloud environments
  • Hear directly from organizations who are implementing the technology
  • Explore the OpenStack ecosystem, both how you can take part as a technology vendor and what product offerings are emerging around OpenStack
  • Have an opportunity to network with global OpenStack community members
