Event Details

This is a series of events that build an electric car from the ground up!

  1. Our Trainers are based in Sebastopol, California, just north of San Francisco, they’ve built and converted vehicles to electric power since 1991.

  2. Now we’ve working with the SWITCH – to create an electric vehicle which we like to think of as “a vehicle for education.”

  3. Combined with the curriculum, it includes everything students need to learn to build an electric vehicle.

FEATURES

Adjustable lectures, projects, and tests allow the course to be taught is as few as 3-5 Days or 8 weeks or as many as 19

Project based lab assignments mean more activities for more students

Most of the components are built or configured away from the vehicle, install once they are complete

ALL wiring is provided.  Everything is cut to length, professionally terminated and labeled for ease of assembly, the wiring looms are even color coded

Training for the instructors is provided.  In one week we demonstrate the basic functionality of the components and the teachers actually build a SWITCH during the class.

The training is approved for Continuing Education credit in California. And we are a Department of Apprenticeship Standards Program offering California Certification in Network Specialist.

Switch Vehicles has made this a program for success.  Based on project-based instruction we include STEM as part of our coursework.

Switch Vehicles was started by two long time EV builders and enthusiasts.  One founder taught How to Convert your car to Electric at the local community college, the other was involved with Electrothon racing at high schools up and down the state of California as far back as 1995.

The Car

We have a variety of class options available to inform and inspire you to best understand the concepts and fundamentals of electric vehicle transportation.

All of our classes include a mix of lecture and hands-on fun.  You will actually build what you drive!

Learn EV wiring and component installation

• EV components functions and installation parameters

• Install all wiring, relays, batteries, motor electronics

• Designed for instructors familiar with the electrical aspects of building electric vehicles

• Less lecture lets just build this thing!

Founded in 2015, CityLab harnesses the collective power of the world’s most influential Makers in San Jose and financial institutions to build a new type of urban practice that gets dramatically better results for low-income people, faster.

The good news and good thing about working in San Jose with strong foundations are that they have the financial independence to deal with some of those hot topics that conventional NGO's cannot tackle per chance they might ruffle the feathers of those people who fund them.

Our students are the rockstars of our business. It's our job to make them look and feel like one.

CityLab aims to resolve the knowledge divide for the base of the pyramid populations in the local market through civic enterprise technology and the internet. This challenge also involves closing the Knowledge Divide along that path, which involves a Volunteer effort equal to its challenge.

This challenge also involves closing both Digital Divide Fragments, and the larger Knowledge Divide along that path, which involves a Volunteer effort equal to its challenge.

As part of the reward for selected Volunteers, Interns, and Employees, Mr. Clarke communicates the first 100 Hours of service to the United States White House for Service Volunteer Recognition.  Mr. Clarke holds the Presidental Lifetime Service Award, given to him in 2011.
