Eighth Street Wineries Open House
Saturday, February 25, 2012 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM (PST)
Housed in an unlikely warehouse district of rural Sonoma, our independent producers offer fine artisan wines you simply won't find on the mass market. At this twice yearly celebration, wander from cellar to cellar enjoying limited-production wares. Sample current releases, library offerings, and barrel tastings. Indulge in gourmet food pairings provided by top local restaurants and caterers.
Are you an Eighth Street Wineries wine club member? If so, enjoy a special preview hour featuring special barrel tastings and small group time with winemakers. Also, be sure to inquire with your individual sponsoring winery for a special discount ticket!
In recognition of the impact that the wine industry has on the environment (washing barrels, tanks, floors, and more) a portion of ticket sales will be donated to a global water charity, Water.org. A few facts:
**It takes 710 liters of water to make one 750 ml bottle of wine.
**One in eight people in the world does not have access to safe, clean drinking water.
**$25 will provide one person in a developing nation to access to clean water for the course of their entire life.
Ticket price ($30 advance/ $35 at door, $20 club members) includes all tastings and pairings, as well as a souvenir wine glass and the chance to win a half case of wine.
A $25 Water for Life ticket will not get you into the event, but will provide safe drinking water for one person in the developing world.
See you in February!
