Columbia Business School - Technology Business Group

Whether you are interested in Banking, Consulting, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Not-for-Profit, Operations or indeed almost any career path possible after school, a knowledge of technology is vital. Its impact is felt everywhere and the Technology Business Group (TBG) is the only club that addresses this. Our activities—including dinners, panels, speakers, conferences, and more—explore the immediate issues of how technology has and will continue to change the way the world and business works.

SoFi

SoFi is harnessing the power of alumni communities to offer students and recent grads a better deal on their student loans. SoFi offers alumni an attractive investment opportunity with a social impact. The $1 trillion student loan industry is broken and needs a better solution. After a successful $2MM pilot at Stanford, SoFi expanded to 79 schools nationwide, including MBA, JD and Undergraduate programs. As of December 2012, the company has processed over $130MM in loans that offer favorable rates along with benefits similar to those provided by federal loans. SoFi recently raised a Series B equity round of $77MM, backed by a group of leading institutions including Baseline Ventures, DCM and Renren.  To learn more visit sofi.com.
