EDUCATION & WORKFORCE: CHAIR, LEIGH GOODSON, TULSA COMMUNITY COLLEGE
The Education and Workforce Task Force addresses issues at all levels of education to enhance career pathway opportunities and build the region's talent pipeline. This includes a focus on early childhood, K-12, career tech and higher education to ensure that the Tulsa region has a skilled workforce.
The July 15th meeting will include a recap of the 2014 legislative session. Guest speakers will address Common Core State Standards, the Reading Sufficiency Act, and education funding at all levels. We will also review last year’s education priorities and present new topics for discussion.

Tulsa Regional Chamber
The Tulsa Regional Chamber hosts a variety of forums to share information on a variety of subjects that affect economic development. Many forums are free and most are held at the Tulsa Chamber offices. Subjects include education, HR, health care, small business and more. *Partners In Education is a partnership program between Tulsa Public Schools and the Tulsa Regional Chamber. Hundreds of Tulsa companies and organizations partner with TPS sites to offer valuable benefits to Tulsa students. Partnerships can benefit from volunteers in the classroom (reading buddies, testing monitors and lunch buddies) as well as donations such as uniforms, school supplies, snacks and financial donations.
