International Foundation for Survival Research

The International Foundation for Survival Research (IFSR), is a CA nonprofit founded in 1983, to provide public education about the many types of experiences pointing to life after death, and related research.  The IFSR has an introductory website, and offers an informational booklet to requesting hospices and hospitals, free of charge. (The booklet is also on its website.)

In one of its early meetings, the IFSR gave Distinguished Achievement Awards to Sen. Claiborne Pell of Rhode Island, for organizing a conference at the Smithsonian Inst. dealing with life-beyond-death experiences and research; to George Gallup of Gallup Polls, for polling regarding beliefs in life beyond death; and to Bishop Spong, for his writings about afterlife experiences.  The IFSR also awarded research grants to: 1) Dr. Robert Jahn of Princeton's Anomolies Lab - for his work with subjects' attempts to influence random event generators at statistically significant levels; to 2) Karlis Osis, Ph.D. of the American Society for Psychical Research, for his research with subject Alex Tanous, who, while located in a control room, attempted to influence a strain guage in a target room, with significant success; and to 3) Ian Stevenson, M.D. for research focused on the near-death experience.

The IFSR presents public programs featuring persons who've experienced one of the many types of experiences suggesting life beyond death (e.g. apparitions, deathbed visions, NDE, out-of-body experience, mental mediumship, and spontaneous effects).

"The Cosmic Soul - From the Big Bang to Out-of-Body Experiences and Beyond", by retired NASA Engineer Al Taylor, Ph.D.

A former aeronautical engineer, Dr. Taylor was involved in NASA's International Space Station program.  He performed development engineering on a top-secret program, since known as the F-117A Stealth Fighter.  He is author of a book, "Soul Traveler."
