The cost of a college education continues to rise at rates higher than average inflation and family incomes simply aren’t keeping pace. However, a degree has never been more important for securing a student’s financial future. So let’s talk about the elephant in the room: Parents want to provide for their kids by helping them get their college education, but Mom and Dad also have an obligation to their own futures and can’t afford to overspend on college. So what are families supposed to do?
Welcome to Operation College Scholar, a Charlotte, NC-based non-profit organization offering college-to-career planning for families with college-bound scholars. It’s our mission to teach families how to successfully navigate the college landscape so scholars graduate on time from their best-fit college and transition into a career that matches their skills, interests, personality and values, all without Mom, Dad or scholar going broke in the process. Starting with our free workshop, “Eating the College Elephant”, we will sort through fact and fiction and will begin arming families with the information they need to make informed decisions, allowing them to eat the college elephant in 4 easy bites.
Following the presentation, we will take Q&A from the audience up to the point where questions begin to get very family-specific. For those families seeking more individual information, we offer a free consultation where we will take an in-depth look at a family’s unique situation and provide clear feedback about what we see, what we don’t see and next steps to take in order to achieve their scholar’s college-to-career goals.
So who should come to this awesome, free workshop? Answer: anyone with a college-bound scholar! Parents, whether you have a 1st grader or a college freshman, it’s never too early or too late to either begin the planning process or get the facts you need to make a possible course correction. Don’t let your scholar become another statistic. Please RSVP at the link below. Take care and see you soon!
