Eating Local, Growing Local
Saturday, April 14, 2012 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM (PDT)
Learn what you can and can’t grow in our area and how much you need to feed you and your family. Growing your groceries can be easy, healthy, delicious and save you money.
Join Dean Smith of Transition Port Gardner and Red Barn Community Garden
Dean will also discuss a new way to help your community and feed you local organic produce for free: Share crop at the Red Barn Community Garden. Red Barn will donate the plot and the Co-op will cover your start up costs of seeds/fertilizer. We ask that you donate a portion of your produce to the food bank and feed your neighbors. Remember we are, stronger together!
When & Where
Sno-Isle Foods Co-op
We carry local, organic, vegan, gluten-free and wholesome products. We are a food cooperative, owned by its members.
We serve a dual purpose in our community:
One, we are a grocery store and Two, we educate about food and how to live a healthy lifestyle.
We take part in many community events and offer monthly classes to everyone.
We are community owned and everyone can shop here.
