Earth Day Whale Watch With ACS-Orange County!
Sunday, April 21, 2013 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM (PDT)
COME JOIN US – SUNDAY, APRIL 21!
Join the American Cetacean Society's Orange County Chapter (ACS-OC) for a beautiful, two-hour sunset whale watch aboard the Dana Pride, the biggest, most stable whale-watch boat on the coast!
ACS is the oldest non-profit dedicated to protecting and conserving whales, dolphins, porpoises and their habitats. We're the folks who train and provide naturalists for whale-watch boats, schools and other venues. This trip will help us raise funds to keep up that good work.
Your fellow whale-watchers will include experts from Dana Wharf and ACS. Scheduled to be on board:
Dr. Kayla Causey, researcher and professor at CSU Fullerton and head of the Coastal Dolphins of Orange County project.
Dr. Lei Lani Stelle, marine mammal biologist and professor at University of Redlands.
Todd Mansur, Dana Wharf Captain and Gray Whale Expert.
Many ACS-OC Naturalists, including Martee Shabsin, Steve O'Toole and Irene Gilgoff.
Desi Green, ACS-OC Naturalist Instructor.
Members of the ACS Orange County and National Boards.
There couldn't be a better-informed or more enthusiastic crowd! Everyone is welcome - experienced whale-watcher or rookie. Come along, enjoy and learn!
Tickets are $35 for Adult Non-ACS members, $28 for ACS members, and $25 for Students, Under 18 or 65+. And ACS-OC is paying the ticketing fees, so the price you see is the price you pay!
What’ll we see? Sightings aren’t guaranteed, but last year in April, we were seeing four kinds of dolphins and lots of gray whales (including mother/baby pairs), and we might see fin whales and maybe even blues! You never know - that's what makes it fun!
COME JOIN THE PARTY!
