Dwan Bosman was born in Ft. Myers, Florida, and raised in New Haven, Connecticut and Atlanta, Georgia. His career in music can be traced to the age of 12 when he began with the clarinet. He moved to the alto saxophone at the age of 15.
Dwan’s musical heritage is outstanding. He has been privileged to get the best hands-on training in classical and jazz improvisational techniques under the tutelage of renowned musicians within his family. His late grandfather, Lloyd Smith, was a saxophonist for “The Big Bands” of Duke Ellington, Lionel Hampton, and Earl “Father” Hines. Dwan’s father, Dwight Bosman, and his uncle, Dwayne Bosman are The Legendary “Bosman Twins.”
Dwan is known as one of Atlanta’s most talented jazz and gospel saxophonists. As an accomplished saxophonist, Dwan has performed with local and national gospel and jazz artists. As an international and diverse saxophonist crossing different genres, Dwan has performed with various artists, such as Kelly Price, Montell Jordan, Melissa Morgan, Doug E Fresh, Da Brat, and The Bosman Twins.
Dwan continues to be called upon to lend his talents to various projects. He has performed at The National Black Arts Festival, The Atlanta Jazz Festival, Atlanta’s Centennial Park’s “Wednesday Wind Down” Concert Series, The St. Louis History Museum’s “Twilight Tuesday’s” Concert Series, Atlanta’s Sweet Auburn Festival, and countless other projects and venues.
Dwan Bosman’s unique style of Hip Hop-Jazz has earned him a recording contract with Track Katz Recordings, LLC of Atlanta, Georgia. Track Katz Recordings has released his new debut single “I Can’t Wait,” produced by Doug “DP” Pittman, featuring vocalist Michael “Big Mike” Walters. Dwan’s new album, “Sax Attack,” will be released in April 2013.
