>> What is Queens Day?!
On Queens Day The Dutch celebrate the birthday of her Majesty Queen Beatrix. The monarchy was established in 1815, and King William I was its first ruler. Queen Beatrix has been the reigning monarch of the Kingdom of the Netherlands for over 30 years, succeeding her mother Queen Juliana. It's going to be a very special day this year, as Queen Beatrix will abdicate her throne to make way for her son Prince Willem-Alexander on April 30.
