On Friday, October 26th, Mediacurrent will be hosting a sprint for new core contributors. If you're planning on getting to DrupalCamp Atlanta a day early and are interested in learning how to get started in Drupal core development, please feel free to attend. The event will be held at the same time and same room as the Media sprint, which is 9am - 5pm EST at the Waverly Renaissance hotel in the Stanhope room.
The topics that will be covered include:
- Setting up a local Drupal development environment
- Basics of git (the Version Control System used by Drupal)
- Issue queue usage and etiquette
Its important to note that even if you're not a developer, Drupal still needs you! There are several roles outside of development such as documentation and testing that need filling.
Mediacurrent is sponsoring the cost of the room, coffee and sodas - chairs, tables, and wifi access will also be provided (please bring your own laptop). Mediacurrent team members, Albert Volkman and Kevin Basarab, will lead the sprint and day-of-the-event coordination.
