Giraffage (San Francisco, CA) - With a robust early following and organic online buzz, Giraffage offers a fresh, sample-rich sound of dreamy pop beats, sensual synths and lush experimental electronic. The creation of Charlie Yin of San Francisco, Giraffage commands an intuitive grasp of modern music manipulation. Inspired by Daft Punk and Boards of Canada, Giraffage is a true bedroom producer that started playing out only after gaining solid traction online.
Vaski (Minneapolis, MN) - Vaski is the young Beatport chart-topping, Minneapolis-based producer known for his previous releases on Excision's Rottun Recordings. He got his foot in the door with Dubstep, but now his sound has become so much more. His early influences ranged from everything to metalcore, indie, and hip-hop. Vaski's latest work, the 'Explorer' EP features him exploring more electro-house and hiphop sounds, while maintaining the hardcore sound he's known for. He has toured over three continents and his sound has been heard throughout the world. His tracks have gotten regular support from names like Excision, Flux Pavilion, 12th Planet, Diplo, Rusko, Nero, and Kill the Noise.
Wave Racer (Sydney, AUS) - Tom Purcell is 21-year-old producer Wave Racer snapping beats at record speeds. Purcell’s blend of pixelated future-funk is fast taking Australia by storm. From mind-bending Jersey Club anthems, to sun-drenched takes on modern hip-hop instrumentals, his sound is downright magnetic.
Trippy Turtle (Norway) - From an early age, this songwriter and producer was exposed to the influential beauties of Scandinavia, along with sensual R&B music. An elusive artist if there ever was one - Trippy Turtle is known for his Jersey Club influences. In September, he was asked to record a mix for Diplo & Friends which was aired on BBC Radio One.
whysowhite (Chicago, IL) - Chicago funk/hip-hop group whysowhite released their self-titled debut album in February 2013. Well received by listeners it shot to the front page of popular social news site Reddit, #1 on Bandcamp with featured coverage on Jay-Z's Life + Times. During SXSW 2013, whysowhite played several showcases including a supporting set for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Headlining dates at Chicago venues like Subterranean, Double Door and Martyrs followed with a main stage performance at North Coast Music Festival in Chicago.
whysowhite started off 2014 recording a session with Audiotree.TV and releasing a music video for fan favorite "Get Busy." As a result Ruby Hornet labeled whysowhite as one of their "Chicago Acts To Look Out For in 2014." whysowhite will be on a 17-date national tour in March 2014 with stops at SXSW. The group's sophomore album is slated or Summer 2014 with national tour and festival dates to be announced.
The Flavr Blue (Seattle, WA) - Red Bull Sound Select band The Flavr Blue gained their inspiration from the bold, hypnotic sounds of contemporary Scandinavian electronic artists. The trio, comprised of members Parker, Hollis and Lace, churn out haunting vocals and mesmerizing synth beats that transcend otherworldly vibes.
