Stroke is the leading cause of serious, long-term disability in the United States.  Each year, about 795,000 people suffer a stroke. About 600,000 of these are first attacks, and 185,000 are recurrent attacks.

The Xing Nao Kai Qiao (XNKQ) acupuncture protocol was developed in the early 1970s by the academician, Dr. Shi Xuemin at Tianjin University, China, and has proven extremely effective in treating stroke and dementia patients as well as preventing stroke for those at risk.

Due to its unique characteristics in the treatment of stroke patients, the Xing Nao Kai Qiao (XNKQ) acupuncture therapy has been widely used in China for the past 40 years int
egrating with conventional western physical therapies. Studies have shown that XNKQ therapy significantly increases the recovery rate among stroke patients.

He completed his California acupuncture training at Emperor’s College in 1993 and spearheaded the Japanese-style acupuncture program at Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine College, Berkeley.
