Event Details

We cordially invite you to join us in celebrating Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar’s centennial at Columbia University on October 26th. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was the principal architect of the Constitution of India and the foremost voice on the abolishment of the caste system. He received an M.A. from Columbia University in 1915, and a Ph.D. from Columbia in 1927.

Speakers include the Hon. Nirupama Rao, Ambassador of India to the U.S, the Hon. Asoke Kumar Mukerji, Permanent Representative of India to the U.N, Jagdish Bhagwati, University Professor and Sudhir Krishnaswamy, B.R. Ambedkar Visiting Professor of Indian Constitutional Law.
