Doctors Without Borders LIVE Recruitment Webinar for Midwives
Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM (EDT)
Every day, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) aid workers from around the world provide assistance to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe—treating those most in need regardless of political, religious, or economic interest. Whether an emergency involves armed conflicts or epidemics, malnutrition or natural disasters, MSF is committed to bringing quality medical care to people caught in crisis.
In any MSF project, provision of reproductive health care will very often be a component. In 2012 alone, MSF teams assisted in more than 185,000 births—births supported by midwives recruited from all over the world, including from the United States.
On Wednesday, October 16, nurse-midwives and certified midwives are invited to join us for a LIVE teleconference and webinar dedicated to a discussion of employment opportunities for midwives with MSF. Learn more about how you can join MSF’s pool of dedicated midwives who provide reproductive and mother-child health care around the world every day.
MSF Field Human Resources Officers will give an overview of the organization and discuss requirements, and participants will be able to ask questions about the recruitment process and life in the field.
Joining our staff will be Emily Sayers Slocum, a New York-based nurse-midwife and MSF aid worker, who will share stories and photos from her recent MSF assignment in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The presentation will last approximately 75 minutes, including Q&A.
Starting Times by time zone are listed below:
