Do Right, Be Brite
Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM (CST)
Did you spend your lunch hour watching talking
animal videos on YouTube?
It’s certainly one way to beat the Mondays, but think of what else you could do in an hour:
• Sort through 100 sets of hats, gloves and mittens
so that needy families won't go cold this winter
• Serve a hot meal to 50 people who didn’t know
where their next meal would come from
• Walk 5 dogs who have been abandoned by their owners and
forced to spend all day in a metal crate
• Read 3 books to an eager child
• Play 2 rounds of bingo with a patient at a nursing home
• Help a blind runner complete her first 5k
Every month we will highlight different organizations in Chicago that are in need of volunteers. We’ll collect and share opportunities to volunteer your time and give back to your community each month, taking the hard part out of volunteering -- finding the causes. These valiant organizations will thrive with your assistance, and you’ll get that warm-fuzzy feeling inside when you do something good. And who knows, maybe one month you'll find a cause that really resonates with you, and you'll want to go back for more.
Come meet and mingle with some of the volunteer organizers we'll be working with over appetizers and Be-Brite-tinis. Join us in raising our glass to making a difference:
Here's to 2012. Let's Do Right and Be Brite. Let's give back. Let's make a difference. Let's change the world.
Big thanks to our sponsor, Frontier!
Be sure to tweet them thank you @FrontierChicago :)
