The United States is the world's largest economy. Trade and investment flows between Sweden and the U.S. have developed positively over the last decade and the U.S. is Sweden's fourth largest single export market today. The country offers a lot of opportunities but there are also challenges.
Being the world's third largest country, both by size and population, means there is a large domestic market but also vast domestic resources. Spanning five time zones, including Silicon Valley, the legendary Wall Street financial center in New York, oil fields in Texas, heavy industry in the Midwest and creative centers in Los Angeles, the U.S. has it all. However, the country also consists of fifty different states where federal laws meet state laws and different taxations and rules for setting up businesses.
