This month we'll get a closer look at some 3D tools and projects that may help you with your upcoming VFX, Motion Graphics, or other animations.
Alex Dow is the Director of Marketing at Zaxwerks. His depth of knowledge and infectious attitude has helped people all over the world discover how easy 3D motion graphics can be, right inside of After Effects, when using Zaxwerks products.
Alex will be showing off the new Zaxwerks product, 3D ProAnimator v8, that will be coming out at the end of the month. This new version is all about speed and beauty and is geared for the user that values his render time.
3D Camera Mapping
Josiah Taylor is the Senior animator for Charlie Company in Los Angeles. His work includes clients such as the NFL Network, Disney Channel, HBO, Spike and SyFy Channel. Working with Cinema 4D for all his motion graphic needs. Josiah also recently completed the Character Animation Program at Animation Mentor.
Josiah will present Camera Mapping techniques he uses in his Cinema 4D workflow.
Casey Hupke is a visual fx designer/animator who has been working in the commercial industry for the better part of 7 years. As a freelancer he has collaborated with a several studios to help define a generative art style that can been seen in many campaigns for clients such as IBM, ATT, Coca Cola, and Buick. A passion for comedy and illogical particle effects help to define his workflow, and design aesthetic.
Art Director Casey Hupke, from Zoic Studios LA, is showing how he takes his muddled ideas and turns them into full blown radness. He’ll be showing off some new personal experiments as well as what he’s been cooking up at Zoic. From the commander to experimental beta software such as Krakatoa and X-Particles there is sure to be something everyone can take away from this presentation.

Digital Media Artists \ Los Angeles
Digital Media Artists / Los Angeles (DMA/LA) is an association for professionals creating imagery for video, film, and other media using desktop tools. MGLA was formed in August 1997 through the merger of several previously-existing groups. DMA/LA is an extention of that - continuing in 2008. DMA/LA's area of discussions are not restricted to a specific hardware or software solution, understanding that an artist often has to employ 2D, 3D, and other digital tools to realize their vision - and that artistic inspiration can be universal.
