DLECTRICITY - Light Bike Parade
Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM (EDT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Get ready to Light It Up! DLECTRICITY is hosting the second Light Bike Parade; a 4-mile ride on wheels that showcases Detroit's uniquely lit-up cycles as they ride through Midtown! The Light Bike Parade is FREE and OPEN to the public thanks to our sponsor: Shinola. All you need to do is reserve the date and register. (Registration will also take place the day of the event between 6:00 PM-8:00 PM.)
This event is more than just a bike ride through Midtown Detroit, it is your opportunity to be part of a moving art display as part of DLECTRICITY! Come with your bike already decked out or grab a light kit the day of the ride (light kits available to those who pre-register before 9/20/2014). Volunteers will instruct cyclists of all ages on how to add light and creativity to their rides. There will be awards for the brightest bike and best helmet decoration!
The Parade will begin at 8:01 PM from Wayne State's Parking Lot 54, located at the southeast corner of Second Ave. and Warren Ave. We will have three (3) Groups starting at different times - Quick Riders, Moderate Riders and Family Riders. The event is rain or shine, so be prepared for the weather!
FREE bike valet parking is provided by our friends at Wheelhouse Detroit and will be available both days of DLECTRICITY and after the Light Bike Parade.
** Please note: Light kits will contain a couple items to light up your bike. We encourage riders to come pre-decorated and use the light kits to enhance your ride!
Due to the overwhelming turnout for the Dlectricity Light Bike Parade, we only have a limited number of Light Kits based on our initial estimate. Those registering before September 20th will receive decorations on a first-come first-serve basis. We apologize for the inconvenience.
