Are you the next Backthird DJ?
You're invited to attend our DJ Hiring Open House at our studio in Aurora. We'll get acquainted, explain what the job entails, and give you a demonstration of what it means to be a Backthird DJ – and find out if Backthird is a match for you.
You must register above to RSVP to this event.
Backthird Entertainment is in the happy business. We provide DJs and small music ensembles for private events all over the Chicago area. We promise our clients two things: a great party and great service. We’re currently looking for more DJs capable of building strong relationships with people, then showing them a great time through music.
We also operate a recording studio in downtown Aurora. Our goal is to see more people in the Fox Valley music scene making a living doing what they love.
About the Job:
As a DJ, you will transport and set up music equipment at events we book. You will direct events and make announcements, then play great music that keeps people dancing all night long. Previous experience is NOT required – if you are right for the job, we will train you and provide the equipment. This is a well-paid, part-time job. You’ll work a lot of Saturday nights, and some Fridays and Sundays. But you will still have your weekdays free. You need your own vehicle and you need to be physically able to carry and set up sound equipment. You also need your own cell phone and computer so you can correspond with clients during the week.
Most of our DJ work is at weddings. This job is NOT about playing the latest techno music, and it’s NOT about drinking and partying. It’s about getting paid to play a mix of old and new music and interact with people of all ages. The best DJs are playful, outgoing – and organized. They know when to do things by the book, and when to get creative. If you’re a great teacher, actor, table server or barista, you could be a great DJ.
If you are always late or disorganized, this is NOT for you. If you only like one kind of music, this is NOT for you. If you are a hotshot who loves the spotlight and won’t take requests, this is NOT for you. This is a customer service job – it’s about putting clients first and making people smile.
To be hired, you should be able to commit to being a DJ for at least three years. You will start assisting at events and making money right away, but the longer you do this, the better you will get and the more clients will request you and sing your praises. We want DJs who will stick with us long enough to become great.
