Katja Vetter (http://www.katjaas.nl/home/home.html) will show how to build a quality unidirectional DIY microphone suitable for live recording, and how to use it with Slice//Jockey, a live sampling Pure Data patch.
Some simple soldering will be involved, but no experience is necessary - we'll teach you what you need to know.
Bring a laptop, ideally with Pd-extended installed (http://puredata.info/). We will provide the matierals to build your own microphone and needed and software.
Discounts for CRASH Space members - see member list for details.
(Note this runs concurrently with the Pure Data + Raspberry Pi: The Adventure Continues workshop.)
When & Where
We are a collection of hackers, programmers, builders, makers, artists and people who generally like to break things and see what new things we can build with the pieces.
