Heart Issue: Acting with Character
An individual's talent will take them as far as their character will let them go. Ethical behavior like many of our secondary behavior is learned and selected as a method of operating in the world. We can legislate behaviors but we cannot legislate attitude, morality or choices that people make.
We will examine why people make ethic choices while others do not. As we examine ethical decision making models we will explore how and why we need people to prick their heart to create lasting change.
Identify and discuss ethical decision making, social interest vs. personal interest.
Understand the impact culture has on character and the ability to make good choices.
Define character, goals and goal setting .
Increase awareness and understanding of the power of individual decision making
Understand the impact of taking an unpopular stance.
“Through innovative and interactive diversity education, personal empowerment, and team building, we help individuals and organizations approach old problems with new solutions.” We help Government and Educational organizations manage and train staff, employees, and clients on diversity issues without blame, fault or guilt. We understand that people are doing the best they can with what they have. Yet we encourage them to examine themselves, explore other cultures, and become allies for others. We work to move people's behaviors not by pushing them or making them feel guilty. We dissect, analyze, and make meaning of the issues that challenge us in a fair, balanced way that people can hear and understand. We motivate individuals to create something collaboratively.
