Join us for a chance to interact and network with other Diversity Leadership Circle members. Our guest speaker, James Taylor, will share information about the John H. Boner Community Center and two of the agencies it supports, the American Indian Center of Indiana and the Immigrant Welcome Center.
The John H. Boner Community Center is a nonprofit agency founded to serve residents of the Near Eastside of Indianapolis. In 1971, neighborhood residents organized and determined the need for a community center. Throughout the years, the Center’s philosophy has inspired the creation of services and programs in response to changes within the neighborhood.
The center believes in fairness and equality and encourages the full participation of all individuals in fulfilling its mission to promote self-reliance and an improved quality of life for Near Eastside residents. The John H. Boner Community Center recognizes the strength of diversity and celebrates a society of different individuals, cultures and perspectives whose knowledge, skills and talents enrich and strengthen us as a people. These differences include race, color, national origin, ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, creed, physical or mental disability, veteran status, and political affiliation.
