Disruptive technology in research
An un-conference focussing on disruptive technologies and their applications for research
Attention all tinkerers, programmers, developers, hardware hackers and researchers. In the lead up to the eResearch Australasia conference, and the International Open Access Week we are hosting an unconference examining disruptive technologies and their applications for research.
The event will include informal talks, demos and hands on development sessions. Examples of the kinds of topics we expect to be covered include: Immersive 3D data visualisation with Oculus Rift; Internet of Instruments: Build a wireless sensor network using open hardware; 3D printing to support research; ArduSat: arduino-powered nano-satellite; Build your own DNA sequencer; etc
Bring along your own tech! Show us how it supports research. Show us how it can disrupt research!
The event will provide an opportunity for folks attending eResearch Australasia to meet and mingle with Brisbane's hacker community at the Edge: a space custom built to explore creativity across the arts, technology, science and enterprise.
