During a disaster response many jurisdictions often do not have the number of trained logisticians needed to execute effective resource management, movement control and commodity distribution operations. The Regional Logistics Program (RLP) has developed a comprehensive training program that aims to increase the number of trained personnel available to support these types of operations.
Based on plans developed by the RLP, Disaster Logistics training provides participants with the knowledge they need to step in and assist when needed most.
· LOG 101: The Disaster Logistician – an introduction to the general principles of logistics and the practice of disaster logistics in particular.
Who should take this training?
Disaster Logistics Training can be taken by anyone in a jurisdiction interested in supporting disaster logistics operations. Many local personnel are more involved in resource management than they realize. Consider training personnel who work in areas such as finance/administration, public works, public health or education.
