This world is made up of two kinds of brands. First, there are those that are full of sugar and spice and everything nice. They’re amazing to employees. Their visual identities kick ass. They have armies of loyal followers constantly buzzing about them online. And, with everything going on, they still find the time to drive positive social change or help protect the environment. You know…the real goody-goodies.
Then, we have the dirty, rotten, no-good scoundrels. They try to convince you they’re one of the good guys and hope you don’t see through their antics. They’re always making inauthentic claims or trying to boost their image with stick-on cause marketing. They couldn’t engage a consumer to save their own lives. They run and hide at the first whiff of a challenge or crisis. If this were Communications High School, they would be the evil cheerleaders that pretend to be your best friend.
