Dig in! A Journey Through the Cycle of Food is a collaborative event between FoodCycle Islington and the SOAS Food Co-op. Guests will enjoy a three course vegetarian meal cooked by MasterChef winner Julie Friend using food reclaimed from Islington supermarkets and organic ingredients from the SOAS Food Co-op. Throughout the evening, guests will have a chance to win several prizes including vouchers for The Taco Stand UK, the Duke of Cambridge Pub, and the Almeida Theatre. During the meal, engaging speakers at the head of the fight against global food waste, such as Patrick Mulvany, Chair of the UK Food Group and Kerry Rankine, Assistant Director of Growing Communities, will share their stories and reveal their innovative solutions.
Tickets are also available for purchase from the Food Co-op in the SOAS JCR between Tuesday 26 Feb and Friday 1 March. Online tickets are available for purchase while supplies last or until Monday 4 March.
All profits from the night will go to support the charity FoodCycle, which builds communities across the UK by combining volunteers, surplus food and a free kitchen space to create nutritious meals for people at risk of food poverty and social isolation.
